"Every leaf speaks to me fluttering from the autumn tree." ~ Emily Brontë
I'm feeling a change in the air and a softness as the light filters through the trees. The crisp golden leaves as they fall remind me of letting go and preparing for a new season. The days become shorter for a reason. It is time to slow down and remember the bounty that is your life. Take a sweet moment and reflect on what it means to you. Remember that you get to choose what the fall will bring. After all, it is the season of harvest, full of rich abundance and you get to decide what that means for you. As women, we are so often busy doing, planning, and organizing that we forget the importance of taking a lesson from nature. Mother Nature is reminding us to shed that which we've outgrown, replenish ourselves through the practice of rest and nourishment. We are also moving through a period of overwhelm. And nothing is quite the same. And it was never meant to be... I invite you to join me in welcoming a kinder way as we shift gears into the autumn season.
Make yourself a daily priority. It's an investment you won't regret. I promise! "Dwell as near as possible to the channel in which your life flows." ~ Henry David Thoreau
Home is where we rest and replenish. Home is where we weave our thoughts into dreams and vision into reality. Home is where we shall always return. I recently led a self-empowerment workshop, "An Invitation to Come Home to Yourself." Together we took a journey to explore how we are supported both individually and collectively. When we truly feel supported and at home, we can inspire and welcome inspiration. Our daily lives can thread together in ways that we forget what is most important and our reason for being. I encourage you to try this simple exercise upon awakening each morning: Roll to one side in the fetal position and contemplate the feeling of being held. Between sleep and wakefulness, we allow ourselves to be present to the mystery of all the ways we are being held. By contemplating being held, we are open to LOVE. We are practicing receptivity. Say to yourself, "I am allowing myself to be held by a love that is far greater than my own thinking. I open to this love now." Remember the love that created you is YOU, and you are never alone. When you allow the concept that love is always holding you, you will experience a deepened sense of peace and connection to the world around you. You become available to the mystery of love's intervention in your life. This intervention is not possible when we believe we alone must fix our problems. Keep choosing in the name of your heart! |
