"We will be more successful in all our endeavors if we can let go of the habit of running all the time and take little pauses to relax and re-center ourselves. And we'll also have a lot more joy in living." ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
How is joy showing up in your life? Perhaps it's birdsong in the air, sunlight warming the front porch, the giggle of a child, a sunrise, sunset, your favorite song, the smile from a friend or stranger. Take this moment to pause and be present. So often, we begin our day without a clear intention. We simply get up and start running from one thing to the next. This way, we can check off our to-do list and feel accomplished at keeping busy. Does this sound like you? It sometimes does me. What if, instead, you choose the day you would like to live? And maybe even love it! What would that look like? What would that feel like? Would it be a peaceful morning with enough time to savor your favorite coffee, hold gratitude and think about the day? Pause for a mindful moment, take a few deep breaths and ask yourself the following question... "Who do I want to be today?" Do I want to be:
Invite those moments throughout your day, maybe while taking out the trash, pause long enough to take a deep breath, look up and check in with your intention. The choice is yours and mine. When we realize an intention and act from that place, we honor the light and send it out into the world! Remember, one small act creates a ripple effect. What ripple are you sending out today?
